We invite parents & caregivers into a reflective, creative, and community-centered personal growth experience grounded in one essential idea:

When adults lead with authenticity, children thrive.

Parents: For Real — Leading with Authenticity is built around For Real: Helping Children Remain Their Authentic Selves in a Limiting World, a book synthesizing fifteen years of the Guild’s work with children and adults.

Together, participants will explore authenticity not as a fixed trait but as a lifelong, dynamic practice of self-discovery and self-expression—and build concrete skills for supporting children in doing the same. Through reading, discussion, reflection, and experiential activities, parents & caregivers will deepen their understanding of the forces that shape children’s sense of self and consider how adults can create spaces where authenticity is protected, witnessed, and encouraged.

Throughout the course, parents & caregivers will:

• reflect on their own relationship to authenticity
• engage in creative and experiential activities
• explore the societal forces that can lead children away from their authentic selves— including socialization, shame, adult expectations, and adultism
• explore practical tools for countering these societal forces
• connect with other parents & caregivers through thoughtful conversation and shared reflection

By the end of the course, parents & caregivers will have cultivated a deeper understanding of and connection to their authentic selves, allowing them to lead with greater authenticity.
